Smartphones are a great tool for communication, but they can also be a source of distraction and anxiety for children. By deferring smartphone ownership until after primary school, we can help our children focus on their education and social development without the added pressure of social media and constant notifications.

What Do We Want?

CKSF is asking all parents & guardians of Celbridge primary school children, to make an informed decision and consider delaying purchasing a smartphone for their child until after primary school.

We believe that the risks of smartphone ownership outweigh the benefits for children of this age.

Of course, we also understand that smartphone ownership is not a black-and-white decision, and there are scenarios where the benefits do outweigh the risks; we're simply asking that parents make an informed decision.
